SEO Horror Story # 1
We contracted Company X to provide us with SEO services. We did our homework before hiring this company. Because they had Brazilians in charge of their SEO, and our biggest market is in Brazil, we made the decision to go with them. It was a love story in the beginning. After the first couple weeks, we requested a timeline from them because we were not seeing things done on the site. Their first deadline, included the keywords taking 22 weeks to be added to the site. We found that unacceptable and requested a revised timeline. After six weeks, we had no tags, no keywords, no press release (as per contract, it would be on a monthly basis), no link building. Absolutely nothing was done, and yet our second payment was due. We reached out to the CEO, who was very hands on before the contract was signed. When we told him our concern, his response was that he was in Vegas celebrating his birthday, and someone else would contact us. We lost $2000 and waisted a lot of time with this company, and we are now still searching for a good and honest company that can bring us results but it is really hard to trust someone again.
